Is it normal to use the double delivery spout on a gaggia classic for a single cup of coffee? ?

I bought a gaggia classic yesterday and according to the diagram the double delivery spout can be removed for cleaning but it seems impossible to remove. I was just wondering if it was normal to leave the double spout on there when making only one cup. Any guidance appreciated…
