RALEIGH, N.C. (AP)—The Carolina Hurricanes traded five veteran players andstockpiled draft picks in a flurry of deals before the NHL deadline.
General manager Jim Rutherford says the Hurricanes dealt defenseman JoeCorvo(notes) to the Washington Capitals, forwards Stephane Yelle(notes) and prospect HarrisonReed(notes) to the Colorado Avalanche and defenseman Andrew Alberts(notes) to the VancouverCanucks.
